Kurdistan
In 2018 I spent two weeks in Erbil, the Capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, exploring and photographing. Throughout my trip I became continually drawn to making street portraits in the markets and backstreets of the city, where daily life seemed to transcend history. I found myself looking for scenes that juxtaposed an ancient city with the modern world. Imagining as I wandered what the constants of life might be within this evolution of change and trying to catch both the old and new in the frame.
